PERMITS:
We would like to remind residents that a permit is required before a resident can tap into our water system. The permit application is available at the Town Hall from the Town Clerk or Water Commissioner. The completed application should be returned to the commissioner's office, along with a check for the remaining monies owed, made payable to the Town of Princetown Water Department.
When approved, a permit is issued. Requests for inspections must be received 24 hours in advance of the inspection, by telephoning the water department at (518)376-4045. The owner or the contractor must call Dig Safely, New York at 1-800-962-7962 at least 8 hours before beginning excavation in order to allow for marking of any underground utilities that may apply.
LAWN SPRINKLERS/IRRIGATION SYSTEMS
A lawn sprinkling or irrigation system shall not be installed without first obtaining a permit. The permit fee of $25.00 is required upon issuance of the permit.
WATER USAGE BILLING:
The water usage meter readings will be performed on or about July 1st, and bills will be generated and mailed on July 15th. The rate for up to 52,000 gallons usage is $275 minimum(2021 rate, increases $10.00 annually). Additional gallons usage will be billed at $7.50 per 1000 gallons.
The total bill will be due by August 15th without penalty. A penalty of 1% per month is assessed thereafter. Any unpaid bills, plus penalties, as of December 1st will be placed on the next years tax bill.
